| Dear Professor Harris
I was extremely saddened to hear of the death of Professor Ralston Milton “Rex” Nettleford.
It is ironic that he would pass on while on duty for the University of the West Indies (UWI) in the United States because he brought so much value to that esteemed organization; that words will fail to fittingly express.
The death of Professor Nettleford has left a huge hole in the scholarly bank of the Caribbean region and the world at large.
I will always remember him as a gentle person who epitomized Caribbean academic exploits.
He served generations of students in the Caribbean and will be revered as one of the most brilliant, political analysts of our time.
The world is the lesser for Professor Rex Nettleford’s death. The Congress of the People and I mourn with you and the UWI family as well as the rest of region for him.
