PM's Fear and Desperation at Loosing Power

Media Release

Prime Minister Manning's transparently divisive statement that a plot is afoot to get rid of COP Political Leader, Winston Dookeran within the Partnership-Coalition with the UNC, is a clear indication of his growing fear and desperation at the prospect of losing power. Clearly, Mr. Manning is out of touch with the waves of change sweeping the world that have finally reached Trinidad and Tobago.

Further evidence of the Prime Minister's growing loss of credibility is found in the statement made by long time Laventille leader and political activist, Mohammed Shabaaz, who described Manning's promise of $300 million to Laventille as "mamaguay".

Moreover, the recent forced departure of Desparados Steel Orchestra from their newly renovated headquarters on Laventille Hill to move to a car park around the Savannah because of threats to their young players, is a sad indictment of Manning's lack of leadership in combating crime in that community.
