Sadly, our friend, & hard working COP supporter, Angie Dookeran from the El Dorado/Tunapuna area, has been ‘flooded out’….her new computer, all her foodstuff, the beds, her fridge…the works, all waterlogged. Her neighbours are in a mess too, waking up to this nightmare, going to sleep (somehow) in sorrow. Just imagine something as basic as trying to find dry clothes to wear?…such an awful situation.
The Governments’ ODTRM (The office of the disaster & relief preparedness program? or whatever that non functioning body is called) has promised to come (They are located a street away) for the last 3 days. No sign of them,… but when they do answer the phone, plenty excuses. Even the media seems disinterested.
We must do something friends…whatever we can. Angie’s # is 370 6746.
I will be collecting ANYTHING you can give to assist at my home in Blue Range & heading up there on Friday. PLEASE help. This is about reaching out to many families in need. Angie has always helped anyone who asks, PNM, UNCA, no problem. We must now help her & the others in her area.
Thanks a million,
Kathryn.
My # is 632 4079 & cell, 687 0560.
She asks especially for carpets/foodstuff/beds/blankets.
Btw. There are 2 wheelchairs in water, (the owners refuse to budge.) & many children have no clothes at all to wear. |
